Vintage sterling silver hand-made in Newport by the late silversmith Alfredo Sciarrotta. Recognized for his unusual and attractive wares, Sciarrotta was an Italian engineer brought to the U.S. by the OSS during WWII. After the war, he stayed here and found great success as a silversmith. His work was well known across the country and retailed at fine stores such as Tiffany, Shreve, Crump & Lowe, and Gump's, among others.
