About Linda Lee Butler A 2nd generation painter, Linda began her career studying graphic design in the 1970’s. In an age without computers, her work is reflective of that time frame. Linda creates her own foundations - dependent on form, color and structure. She completed her undergraduate studies in graphic design, and additional training at RISD and is now focusing on her painting.
While her current niche is abstract expressionism, her inspirational influences are not necessarily painters. Joseph Albers, a 1970’s color theorist, created a series of pieces that were homage to the square - this helped her understand the language of color. Having always admired Rothko, Linda saw her first work of his in 1983 and has carried the inspiration with her ever since.
Linda infuses her own authentic style to create a collaboration of new age art with a classic twist.
