Located amongst a forty-mile stretch of perfect beach just South of Lisbon, the characterful village of Comporta, and the nearby villages and rural scenery, has been the inspiration behind Penny Morrison's latest collection. 

On visiting this encapsulating and wild landscape you may be forgiven for forgetting you are even in Europe at all. The azure sea and golden sands, bordered by high dunes, stone pine trees, and rice fields, all punctuated by flocks of storks overhead, together orchestrate a dreamlike vista unlike anywhere else. Watching the waves crashing onto the beach trailing clouds of sea spray, with barely another soul in sight less a few passers-by on horseback, it is easy to see why Penny fell in love with Portugal.

In the villages, you’ll find most houses, churches and cafes painted in the striking combination of brilliant white with aquamarine blue bordering, so telling of the area, topped with vibrant terracotta roof tiles. With further exploration, you’ll often find sky blues, mustard yellows, or raspberry reds, in the stead of aquamarine. Many houses have a beach-shack alure that epitomises the laidback lifestyle of the area.

Penny Morrison’s Comporta Collection includes new fabrics, wallpapers, lighting, cushions, and tableware. It is their second full collection of this calibre and has been borne out of a true sense of Penny’s inspiration and love for the West coast of Portugal, where she has built her new home and now spends half of her time. While aiming to encapsulate the colors, atmosphere and motifs of the region, each product has been designed with passion, and with interior design in mind. The fabrics and accessories are handmade by skilled artisans in Portugal, India and the UK.
