Custom Lampshades, Since 2008

Newport Lamp & Shade Company has been creating, sourcing, and styling custom lampshades since 2008. The images above are drawn from our Instagram — shades being reviewed at the bench in our Newport, Rhode Island showroom alongside finished pieces installed in interior designers' and private clients' projects across the country.

What we offer

We specify and deliver hand-pleated silk shades, hardback paper and card shades, printed and hand-painted shades, grasscloth and raffia shades, and shades in customer's own material (COM). Sizes range from small candle clip shades to oversized drums for entry lanterns and dining fixtures. Fittings, linings, and trims are chosen to suit the fixture.

How the process works

Send us the shade dimensions, the fixture or a photo of it, and the material direction you have in mind. We'll confirm feasibility, quote the shade, and give you a firm lead time before any deposit. Fabric is either supplied by you (COM) or sourced by us from our stocked lines and trade accounts. Each shade is made to order to your specifications and finished to Newport's standards.

Lead times and rush service

Standard custom lead time is currently four to six weeks from material receipt. Rush service is available for designer deadlines and installation dates; please note the required in-home date in your inquiry and we'll confirm what's possible.

Who we work with

We work directly with homeowners, and we run a trade program for interior designers, decorators, and architects with net terms, trade pricing, and a dedicated point of contact. If you're inquiring on behalf of a firm, mention it in the form and we'll route you to trade.
