Job Description

Newport Lamp & Shade Company, a luxury lighting and home furnishings shop, is looking for an energetic, design-minded sales associate to join their fast-paced operation.

We are a small team operating a hybrid business serving customers nationally both in-person and remotely. We serve everyone from private clients to large trade accounts. The ideal person for this job has a professional and polished demeanor with a positive, can-do attitude and is ready to tackle any job. This may include instagram messaging, fielding customer inquiries, inventory management, opening boxes and shipping orders. We do not stand around. Be ready to focus on and handle a wide range of tasks daily. Some experience in high-end retail, design or decorative arts is necessary.

Job Requirements

• Energetic and detail oriented
• Ability to prioritize and triage an evolving list of tasks
• Excellent follow through and client services skills
• Must be flexible and able to pivot from customer facing roles to operations duties
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs and ready to get your hands dirty
• Passion for and knowledge of interior design

Schedule: 3 days per week during shop hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM

*must be available two Saturday's per month

Rate: $15 to $20 per hour, commensurate with experience + additional performance based compensation and benefits.
