Overview
Newport Lamp & Shade Company is seeking a Senior Sales & Client Experience Specialist to join our dynamic team in our Newport showroom. This role blends luxury retail sales, digital client service, and creative problem-solving for a clientele that includes discerning homeowners and top-tier interior design professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a front-line ambassador for Newport Lamp & Shade, managing client communications via email, phone, and text while maintaining a standard of elevated service.
- Guide customers—retail clients and interior designers—through lighting, lampshade, and custom-order selections.
- Execute day-to-day showroom operations, including client consultations, transactions, visual merchandising, and inventory management.
- Support order fulfillment, returns, shipping, and coordination with our custom lampshade and repair studio.
- Take initiative in organizing product displays and identifying opportunities to refine the showroom and client experience.
- Play a key customer service leadership role, resolving complex issues with professionalism and prompt follow-through.
- Collaborate with the Sales Director to produce quotes, manage client orders, and ensure seamless communication and execution.
- Use digital tools such as Shopify, Trello, Tettra, and HappyFox (or similar programs) to stay organized and efficient.
The Team
At Newport Lamp & Shade Company, you’ll be part of a close-knit group of creative professionals who work hard but also keep the atmosphere positive and fun. The team is led by the business owner and Creative Director, whose vision shapes the brand, and the Sales Director, whose leadership guides client relations and showroom strategy. You'll also work with the Operations Coordinator, who supports the team by tackling inventory projects, organizing the supply room, and coordinating shipping and receiving.

- A polished communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
- A detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Digitally savvy—comfortable with Shopify, CRM tools, or similar e-commerce and sales platforms.
- Enthusiastic about design and craftsmanship, familiar with interior design, art, or luxury home vocabulary.
- Eager to gain hands-on experience and build a foundation for a rewarding career in interiors, art, home furnishings, or design-related sales and e-commerce.
- Ambitious about expanding your professional network and making key contacts in the interior design industry—this role offers exposure to renowned designers, as well as leading vendors and manufacturers in the world of interior furnishings, providing invaluable firsthand experience and industry insight.
- Someone who values mentorship, open collaboration, and professional development within a creative team.
- Experienced in sales, customer service, or luxury retail (3+ years preferred), or ready to take the next step by learning from industry veterans and leading a new retail standard.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $55,000–$65,000 annually, commensurate with experience
- Competitive paid time off package plus health insurance stipend
